Storyteller to Present Scary Tales at Cape Cod Museum of Art

DENNIS – A storyteller will get residents and visitors on the Cape in the right mood for Halloween.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art will host storyteller Jenny Lee’s Scary Tales for a Moonlit Night as part of its ARTfull Thursday program.

The performance is Thursday, October 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Lee says the story of Hannah Screech, a witch who buries people alive, has made people jump out of their seats.

Lee is currently a history teacher at Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis and is a member of the Northeast Storytelling Alliance and specializes in the folktales and history of New England.

Her passion for folklore and storytelling was born when she first heard the folktales of Cape Cod and New England as a child. Lee has been digging through archives and researching oral traditions to keep the art of traditional storytelling alive for audiences of all ages.

The Scary Tales for a Moonlit Night is for adults and teens. Tickets are $12 and $10 for museum members.
