Tales of Cape Cod Season Winding Down

BARNSTABLE – Just a handful of programs remain for the 2018 season of Tales of Cape Cod.

The non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and disseminating Cape Cod’s unique history will hold one more event in August.

Architectural historian Virginia Adams will present The Barns of Cape Cod on Monday, August 27.

Adams will discuss the English and New England-style barns which are spread out across the Cape’s 15 towns from Falmouth to Provincetown. She will offer insights into the history of barns and the agrarian lifestyle that helped shape the landscape of the region.

Tales of Cape Cod will also host three events in the month of September.

The first, on September 10, is The History of the Cape Cod Cinema with Eric Hart.

Hart, who is the current owner and manager of the Cape Cod Cinema in Dennis, will talk about the theater’s historical significance, along with its 1930 Rockwell Kent mural ceiling.

Events are held at 7 p.m. at the Olde Colonial Courthouse on Route 6A in Barnstable Village. Admission is $10 for non-members and $5 for members.
