Town Meeting Voters in Falmouth Approve Money for Erosion Control

FALMOUTH – Town Meeting members in Falmouth approved a couple of major articles on the warrant last night but will back again today to tackle some more.

An article that includes $2.3 million to tackle climate erosion at Menauhant beach and Chapoquoit Road was passed by voters.

Around $9.7 million in capital projects, which includes $2 million to paint the water tank at the technology park was also approved by Town Meeting members.

Fall Town Meeting continues tonight with a couple of major articles still to be decided on.

One calls for $2.3 million to fund the dismantling of the controversial wind turbines at the wastewater treatment plant.

There’s also a number of petition articles to be decided upon, including a municipal ban on single-use plastic bottles.

There are a total of 36 articles on the warrant.

Falmouth Fall Town Meeting is being held at the Lawrence School.
