Waquoit Bay Reserve Hosts Coffee House Series

FALMOUTH -The Waquoit Bay Reserve is hosting a Coffee House Series on Tuesday evenings this month at the Waquoit Bay Reserve Visitor Center.

On April 16th, participants will learn about the diverse range of microscopic organisms that live with every drop of water in Waquoit Bay and what they have to tell us about water quality.

Recent research in Waquoit Bay examined how phytoplankton species and their abundance varied throughout the year and various locations throughout the Bay.

On April 23rd, participants will learn about the history of rabies on Cape Cod and how scientists are studying its extent and how to protect human health.

Wildlife biologists from the Cape Cod Rabies Program have instituted a rabies vaccination program for raccoons, foxes, coyotes and other rabies carriers on Cape Cod, including within the Waquoit Bay Reserve Lands.

The events will be held from 6:30pm to 8pm but doors open at 6.
