Wellfleet Conservation Trust to Host Annual Indian Neck Walk

WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet Conservation Trust will offer its 12th Annual Guided Walk on Saturday, September 15th along most of the coastline of Indian Neck.

The Annual Guided Walk is a tradition that began in 2007 for the public to experience the beauty of Wellfleet’s open space and conservation lands while being guided by naturalists and other local experts who share their knowledge of the history, geology, and ecology of the areas being explored.

Topics will include the history of the breakwater and pier, Native American settlements, shellfishing, revetments, a modernist house, terrapin nests, and fabulous vistas.

The walk will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, September 15th at the Indian Neck breakwater parking lot. The walk is about 3.5 miles in length, with an estimated time of about 3 hours.

The walk is free of charge, all are welcome to participate, and no reservation is necessary.
