WHOI Taps New VP for Advancement & Chief Marketing Officer

WOODS HOLE – Officials with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution have selected international brand marketing expert Samuel Harp as their first Vice President for Advancement and Chief Marketing Officer.

Harp has most recently served as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he has worked for more than eight years.

Harp has also helped to spearhead customer relation efforts with well-known brands including Comcast, Nokia, Sony Music, Marvel, and Sony Pictures.

In his new role, Harp will be responsible for communications, fundraising, and marketing groups around the Institution.

WHOI is a private, non-profit organization on Cape, dedicated to marine research, engineering, and higher education.

Harp will officially take over his new position beginning October 1st.
