Cape League Report – August 11th, 2016

Well, the final matchup is set as the Falmouth Commodores defeated the Bourne Braves last night at home. Falmouth lead early with a solo homerun from Arizona Bearcat JJ Metijavic. The offense continued to dominate in the bottom of the 5th with hit after hit. 4 different Commodores had hits in that inning which pushed their lead to 6. The offense quieted after that but with the stellar pitching performance as well as struggling offense from the Braves, the Commodores won handily. Falmouth’s pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts and didn’t give up a single run until the last inning. The final score was Bourne 2, Falmouth 6.

The Commodores have been dominant all season and have home field advantage in the championship series against Y-D. But the Red Sox have a reputation of coming up huge in the post season and are going for the 3-peat as they are the 2-time defending champs of the league. The first game of the series is tonight on Arnie Allen Diamond at 6PM.
