Eastham Police charge three with drug offenses

From Eastham Police: After a three-month long joint investigation by the Eastham Police Department and the Cape Cod Drug Task Force, James Souza, 36, of Eastham was placed under arrest during a traffic stop in Eastham at approximately 10:00 AM on September 6, 2019. Souza was taken into custody due to an outstanding arrest warrant, which included two counts of Distribution of Class B Substance (cocaine). Also arrested during the same traffic stop was Christopher Turcotte, 51, of Wellfleet. Turcotte was charged with Possession of Class B Substance (cocaine) and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. At approximately the same time as the traffic stop, a search warrant was executed at Souza’s residence of 250 North Sunken Meadow Road. During the search, a quantity of cocaine was seized along with other items such as packaging materials, scales, cutting agent, U.S. currency and cellular phones. At the residence a third individual, Amber Seyffert, 41, of Eastham, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class B Substance (cocaine) along with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. Souza was also additionally charged with Trafficking a Class B Substance (cocaine) as well as Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. All
three parties were transported to the Eastham Police Department for booking and later to the Orleans District Court where they were due to be arraigned. This case remains under investigation and additional charges will likely be filed.

Officers from the Orleans Police Department, Brewster Police Department, Yarmouth Police Department, Sandwich Police Department, and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation along with MA State Police Troopers assigned to the Cape Cod Drug Task
Force.
