Updated: Motorcyclist airlifted after crash near Eastham/Orleans rotary

EASTHAM From Eastham Police: On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at approximately 9:55 AM, the Eastham Police and Fire Departments responded to Route 6 near the Cranberry Cottages for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. A preliminary investigation showed that a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Christopher Landry, 29, of Eastham, had struck the back of a 2006 GMC pickup truck operated by Michael Scuderi, 22, of Russell, MA.

One individual was transported by the Eastham Fire Department to an awaiting Medflight helicopter at the Barnstable Municipal Airport, and subsequently to a trauma center in Boston. The individual appeared to have injuries that were not-life-threatening.

Southbound Route 6 traffic was detoured onto Hay Road for approximately forty minutes while rescuers treated the injured party and the scene was investigated. Northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane during the same time period. Route 6 was completely re-opened at
approximately 10:40 AM.

The crash remains under investigation by the Eastham Police Department.
