(Mostly) Family Friendly Easter-Fool’s Day Ideas

As a weird twist of fate would have it, this year’s Easter holiday falls on the same Sunday as April Fools’ Day.  This crazy coincidence has tricksters and pranksters scrambling to combine the two in the most epic of ways. Need some suggestions for your own Easter-Fools’ Day pranks? We’re happy to help!

Egg Hunt

  1. What happened to all the eggs? Send the kids out with baskets promising a prize for the most eggs collected at the most difficult egg hunt ever! … But don’t put the eggs out.
  2. Bunnies like VEGGIES! Fill plastic eggs with veggies instead of candy
  3. Rotten egg? Set 1 plastic egg aside when filling the shells with candy. Fill the last shell with shaving gel or green jelly.
  4. Chasing their tail! Start the kids with one egg with a clue… each clue leads to the next until they are left at the end of a giant circle with no final prize
  5. What’s inside? Glue plastic eggs shut with Gorilla glue so no one can open them
  6. Let Me Introduce The Host: SANTA! Have your Easter Egg Hunt hosted by someone OTHER than the Easter Bunny!

Easter Buffet

  1. Would You Could You In A Box? Green eggs and ham is a popular choice! Add a little food coloring to scrambled eggs and pretend everything looks “normal” to you.
  2. Let Them Eat CAKE! … Unless it’s Sponge Cake, made out of real sponges covered in buttercream frosting!
  3. Cake Pops – Brussel Pops… Use Brussel sprouts dipped in chocolate on sticks!
  4. Look What The Bunny Left in the Ice Cubes! Freeze chocolate eggs in the ice cubes to look like… well… nothing you want in your cocktail!
  5. Could be Meat… Could be Cupcakes! Make mini meatloaf’s in muffin tins and “frost” with mashed potatoes (add a little food coloring to make the potato frosting pastel)

Going To A Family Member’s for Dinner?

  1. Say Cheese! Put a sign on the back of your car the reads “My Kids/Wife/Husband/Mom/Dad…. Doesn’t Know it’s April Fool’s Day! Please Honk! Wave! Take A Picture!”
  2. Please Don’t Eat The Daisies! Fill a Tera cotta pot with crushed Oreo cookies and “plant” flower stems (real or fake) in the dirt. Give to the hostess and when the time comes for dessert, grab a spoon and the pot and start shoveling in the dirt onto your plate – or right into your mouth!
