HYANNIS – Congressman Bill Keating and Congresswoman Kathy Castor will be holding a hearing titled “Voices Leading the Next Generation on the Global Climate Crisis.”
The hearing will host four youth-leaders in the climate crisis.
Jamie Margoli from Seattle, Washington, is the co-founder and co-executive director of This is Zero Hour, an international youth climate organization founded in 2017.
Zero Hour has organized youth marches around the world.
Vic Barret of White Plains, New York is a fellow with the Alliance for Climate Education organization and a plaintiff in Juliana v. United States.
Benji Backer from Appleton, Wisconsin is the President of the nonprofit educational group American Conservation Coalition.
Greta Thunberg is a Swedish climate activist who founded Fridays For Future when she went on strike from school outside the Swedish Parliament on Fridays. Thunberg has also spoken on the climate crisis before the EU Parliament.
The hearing will take place Wednesday, September 18 at 10 am in the Foreign Affairs Committee Room of the Rayburn House Office Building and will also be live-streamed at the Foreign Affairs Committee website.
