Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Declares Emergency to Address Homelessness

MASHPEE – The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has declared a state of emergency in response to homelessness in the community.

Tribe officials cited recent economic inflation and rising rental and land costs.

The declaration will empower the Tribal Council to take action to address the issue, as well as hopefully get assistance from the federal government, according to tribe officials.
