Farmers’ Markets Open and Adapting During COVID-19

Many farmers, retailers and restaurants have adapted their businesses to prioritize the safety of the community during the coronavirus crisis. Find which businesses are open and offering expanded services, all keeping with social distancing policy.

SNAP and the Healthy Incentive Program continues to support food insecure communities. Farmers who participate in either HIP or SNAP want you to know they are here for you and are working to make their food available to you.

With farmers market season right around the corner market managers, farmers and municipalities across the community are working together to ensure that your farmers market open this year and will provide you fresh local food all season long while complying with safety recommendations from the Governor and FDA.

In general, customers can expect the following restrictions when shopping at the

  • Wear a MASK
  • Keep 6 ft apart – single shoppers only
  • Please do not bring dogs
  • Please pay by Venmo, credit card, PayPal, or check – minimize cash/contact
  • Please do not touch any food, point and ask; no eating at the market
  • No reusable bags; take your trash with you
  • Do not enter the market if sick
  • Obey any traffic flow indicators to minimize risk to all shoppers

The Truro Educational Farmers Market will open in two weeks, on Monday June 22nd! Due to Covid-19, the town of Truro has requested that we relocate to the Truro Central School for this season. Though our location has changed, our line-up of fabulous vendors has not. We will also keep our regular hours of 8am-12pm. Stay tuned for more info, including how to pre-order! We can’t wait to see all of you soon.
